Directions to the LTI

From Pittsburgh International Airport

• By Bus: The local bus line, PAT, runs a special bus between CMU and the airport, leaving every 45 minutes. It's called the 28X. At CMU the bus stops in each direction on Forbes Avenue, near the intersection with Morewood; from there, walk to LTI (white building labelled "LTI" on this map; north is down). CMU and the airport are the ends of the line, so it is hard to make a mistake. The 28X's schedule is available on-line here.
  The simplest walking route is to backtrack down Forbes past Hamburg Hall, and then follow the driveway (gray on the map) to the nearest entrance of Newell Simon Hall.

• By Cab: You can reach a more reliable subset of the Yellow Cab drivers by calling 412-281-7005. Ask the driver to take you to Carnegie Mellon University, in the Oakland section of town. "Corner of Forbes and Morewood" is the best-known location on campus. If you can get the cab to take you behind Hamburg Hall (driveway shown in gray on this map; north is down), they can drop you off right at the door. Otherwise follow the walking directions above.

• Driving: Exit the airport and follow signs for Pittsburgh. When you pass through the Fort Pitt tunnel, stay to the right and take the exit for 376. Take the "Oakland" exit from 376. This will put you on Forbes Avenue. Continue east on Forbes, passing the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Museum. You will pass Craig St. (on the left) and pass over a small bridge that goes over Panther Hollow. Morewood is the next cross street. Visitor parking is available in the parking garage, which is located on Forbes, past Morewood, on the right hand side (shown in red on this map; north is down).
