LTI Research

The research activities of the LTI in Machine Translation, Natural Language Processing, Speech, and Information Retrieval are centered in the Center for Machine Translation and the Computer Science Department.

interACT

LTI is happy to host the interACT center here at Carnegie Mellon University. The center is jointly located here in Pittsburgh and in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Center for Machine Translation

The Center for Machine Translation (CMT) at the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University conducted advanced research and development in a suite of technologies for natural language processing, with a primary focus on high-quality multi-lingual machine translation. The CMT was founded in 1986 and it is now a research center within the Language Technologies Institute in the School of Computer Science.
