Submission Instructions

Submissions for the LTI SRS will be in the form of short abstracts using the form below. Please follow the length guidelines provided with each question below. Only PostScript, PDF, MS-Word and plain text submissions will be accepted. Note that it is essential for abstracts and presentations to focus on the research of LTI student who is submitting the abstract. If the work was part of a collaboration between students, the abstract should clearly indicate which part of the work was done by the student who is submitting. Both completed and ongoing research efforts are welcomed, including work at early stages.

Submissions will be selected based on importance of the research problem, creativeness and rigor of the approach, and significance of the results.

The following information must be addressed by your abstract. You may follow these guidelines or write your own abstract that adhered to the submission guidelines. You can also download the SRS Abstract Submission Instructions. When finished, email your answers/abstract to Rohit Kumar

  5. What is the research context of the work that you would like to present? For example, which LTI project is this part of and what are the overall goals of that project? What area are you working in (e.g., speech, IR, ML, etc.). [100 words or less]

  6. What were you trying to achieve with your project? For example, was the goal to create a more realistic sounding voice for speech generation or to reduce the word error rate for spontaneous speech in an unrestricted domain? [100 words or less]

  7. Describe the approach you took. Limit your discussion to what you did personally. [250 words or less]

  8. Describe your evaluation methodology and results. In what way do these results advance the state-of-the-art in language technologies? [250 words or less]

  9. Cite any publications in progress or already published that have come out of the work you are submitting here.
